Sold. Ferry Meadows has a 14” diameter boiler for sale, it is suitable for any size locomotive from 10 1/4” to 15” or a steam launch or any other ideas that you might have.

The boiler comes complete with dome, regulator valve, main steam pipe and stainless steel manifold block and has 9 years left on its ticket (RSA inspected) from April 2016.

The boiler was built in 1970 by the Wiltshire Steam Company and fitted to a new 15” locomotive called “Dougal”, built by Severn Lamb to a David Curwen design for Longleat Safari Park, the loco was sold to the Evesham Vale Light Railway in 2004 where it still works today, in 2009 the boiler was replaced by an 18” boiler to give better steaming on the steep gradients at Evesham.
It was then fitted to our new locomotive No44 in 2012 as a short term solution to get us up and running at a lower cost, it has served us very well for three season and is really well suited to our track, it is now being replaced by a new boiler to the exact same specification,
This is a good solid boiler with many years left in it, it has worked commercially all its life and looked after correctly will many more years service.
It can be seen and inspected at Ferry Meadows Railway in Peterborough, it was last in steam on 1 January 2016 when we started back after the Christmas holiday. The boiler will be removed and ready for collection, if you want to see it in steam, then please get in touch quickly before we take it off the loco.
