The next major model engineering event in the calendar is the Midlands Model Engineering Exhibition which will take place October 16-19 at Warwickshire Exhibition Centre.
The venue has been increased in size by 15% which, plus a temporary structure, will give enough space across the two halls for the 46 specialist suppliers and 40 clubs including the Ten and a Quarter Society already booked to attend.
This year’s special displays will celebrate the 120th Anniversary of The Manchester Ship Canal’s official opening on the 1 January 1894, the 200th anniversary of George Stephenson’s first steam locomotive ‘Blucher’ and the 80th Anniversary of the Flying Scotsman becoming the first locomotive to officially exceed a speed of 100mph on 30th November 1934.
