Society Chairman Lofty Ailwood presents the “Railway of the Year 2014” plaque to Chris Knibbs of Ingfield Light Railway in West Sussex following the Society’s AGM at Littlehampton Railway the previous day. Good weather saw six engines in steam – Trevor Guest built Black 5 ‘Ayrshire Yeomanry’, Greenly design ‘Royal Scot’, Carland built ‘Royal Scot’, King Arthur ‘Sir Sagramore’, Midland Compound and 272 GNR Atlantic. Passengers were carried for the first time to Medford Station on the new southern extension.
